She died in the child garden, and was a class pet. Mimi was liked by almost all of the children in that class and when all kids cried except Shizuku, who said she that wanted to go home and do homework. After that, she was called "Dry Ice".

It is likely that she was named Mimi because of a rabbit's most recognizable trait, the ears and Mimi means ears in Japanese.
